Certification Program:
Foundations of Prayer and Spirituality for Accompaniment
Start date: Monday, October 5, 2026. Registration Opens August 1, 2026 and closes September 20, 2026

Course description:
This foundational course operates on the conviction that evangelization and pastoral accompaniment must begin with personal conversion and an ongoing encounter with Jesus Christ through the ministry of the Church. Designed to educate both minds and hearts, the course explores how a mature spiritual life nourishes ministry, human flourishing, and the domestic church. Rooted in a Christological, Eucharistic, and Marian vision of formation, participants will examine the essential role of prayer and the sacramental life in sustaining Christian discipleship.

Bio:
Timothy P. Muldoon (Ph.D. Catholic Systematic Theology, Duquesne University) is the author or co-author of a number of books on theology and spirituality, including The Ignatian Workout and (with Sue Muldoon) The Discerning Parent. He teaches in the Perspectives on Western Culture Program at Boston College.

“As the family goes, so goes the nation, so goes the world in which we live.” (Saint Pope John Paul II)

This certification program helps parishes vivify family life—the domestic church. The work of the Peyton Institute—through this series of courses—helps individuals and parish teams to accompany families. The parish is the “human space” of our encounter with Christ.” St. John XXIII, saw the parish as the place "where people come to be nourished, to meet others, and to find community support and friendship."
